The Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of fresh additions ahead of the game's launch, to players forming strong opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to anticipate.
With many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that highlight their traits, one idea naturally: How can link this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more similar to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Similar to a devoted Bull, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a firm belief – will defend their side unwaveringly. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unashamed love of treats. Several previous official descriptions mention their fondness for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to hoard it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, offering an constant stream of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also states its capacity to predict an opponent's future actions, which seems very like a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly regarded as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a intense sign known for often getting absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being too fabulous (or horrifying, based on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the violet starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Lion offers to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is strongly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a always surprised expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s just like the symbol a Virgo sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the harmony, there are many Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a creature with a unexpectedly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like many discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always staging a performance. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the power to foresee calamities in advance? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who often always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-fire sign that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
