Salah Offers Regret to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones

Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the uproar from his recent interview.

What Happened

Salah was left out from a vital match after making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.

“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The head coach has previously declined to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Moving Forward

The player stated that the team's response remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and it was business as usual,” he continued.

He also implied that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the outburst were not intended to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
