Recent Particulars Emerge Concerning the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

New information has come to light about the shocking deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an session initially became concerned after failing to get inside the house. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source questioned several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in recent weeks. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to descriptions of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Timeline

According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
