Gus Atkinson increased the fitness woes of the England squad when he left the ground on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson pulled up with his hamstring immediately following a delivery in his spell during the morning session.

The England team reported Atkinson had experienced "tightness" and would spend time away from the action in order to be assessed "in the coming hours".

The concluding match of the series in Sydney starts at the end of the week.

England have previously lost key quicks one seamer with a knee problem and Jofra Archer with an abdominal strain on the current trip.

Matthew Fisher was brought into the squad to provide backup.

The seamer had a tough time early in the series, claiming a mere three wickets.
