Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, Farage also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
