Iran Reports Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
