Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.

American performer Finn, who appeared in iconic television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a message.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
